Commercial litigation is almost always complicated. International litigation usually has its own, additional, special problems. We are knowledgeable about the special factors inherent in international litigation and we have the skills and experience to represent our clients successfully in international litigation and arbitration both in the United States and abroad.

We understand how the traditions and cultures of a country can affect the results of a case just as much as a country's procedural or substantive law. We understand how foreign witnesses can affect both the timing and the tenor of litigation. We understand how the ability to collect on a claim or a judgment can vary from country to country. Most importantly, we know how to analyze the many factors that go into determining whether to pursue or defend an international claim, where to bring it and how to bring it. We also know how to combine the systems of various countries to achieve results for our clients that might not be possible within only one country's court system. For instance, we have used the American courts to discover information about opposing parties for use in foreign litigation, since foreign courts do not usually permit the far reaching discovery allowed in the United States.

We have a Russian attorney with 15 years of Russian law experience who is licensed by the State of Washington as a Russian Foreign Law Consultant and we involve her in every matter touching on Russia and on Eastern Europe. Her knowledge of the Russian and Eastern European legal systems has proven invaluable to our clients.

We have a lawyer with more than 20 years of Chinese legal experience who spends most of his time in China. He teaches law (in Chinese) at Beijing University Law School.

We also have a German and Spanish licensed attorney who practiced in both Germany and Spain before coming to the United States and who has case handling experience on matters throughout Europe. Her skills and experience enable us to bring claims against companies in Europe and South America and to give valuable assistance to European and South American companies in their collection proceedings here in the United States.
